Cutting Down Our Christmas Tree

We figured out this is our fifth year getting our Christmas tree with Kate and Jed. It has been a really fun tradition. Today was a gorgeous day to go out looking for a tree. No hot apple cidar needed - it was almost 70 degrees!

...but in the end, he preferred to ride!

Per tradition, Jed holds while Jeff cuts the Castellucci's tree down...and then Jed cut down ours. (This year, Josh helped to hold too!)

Tree Lighting and Santa Claus

We went to the tree lighting ceremony near Grandma and Pop-Pop's house in New Freedom, PA. We missed the "parade" and Santa's arrival, but Josh got a good look at him and we're slowly working towards sitting on his lap. Josh is warming up to the idea! The highlight of the night for Josh was the firetruck and ambulance - we're thankful for volunteer firefighters!

Happy Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Betsy's side of the family in Philly and New Jersey.

A highlight of the visit was meeting Natalie and Matt's little girtl, Josephine Lilly Ryan. She was born on October 6 and is a sweet little baby!

While Mommy and Grandma were out hitting some of the Black Friday sales, Josh insisted on pushing Gigi's mower around the block with Daddy and Pop-Pop!

A morning in preschool

We had the priveledge of joining Josh for preschool. The school had a Thanksgiving chapel in the Sanctuary first and then we were in the classroom for the duration of morning. It was fun to finally put faces with the names of all of the students that Josh talks about each week. We were invited to play and even got to participate in music class! Josh liked having Jeff help him with the legos and we even caught a moment of sharing between Josh and Katelyn during snacktime!

First Thanksgiving at Deep Creek

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Jeff's side of the family at Deep Creek. It was a great weekend with lots of laughter and great food!

It was nice enough to go on a walk and we went exploring through all of the new construction on our road.

...and then I heard laughter. I went out into the hall to find the shoe rack empty and my two, little monkeys playing!

Josh's two favorite things: vacuums and playing outside. Fortunately, we were able to combine the two for some raking fun!

A fuzzy caterpillar - poor little guy curled up right away to protect himself. I don't blame him! Josh was really excited and didn't want to put him down!

When Katelyn crawls into the kitchen, we know exactly where she will go. She likes to crawl under the table and stand at the chairs. She scavenges for food near Josh's chair and then uses the rest as walkers, pushing them out from under the table and around the kitchen. She'll be so sad when she grows too tall to stand upright under the table...and so will I!

Watching Airplanes

There is a playground near Jeff's work that is right on the landing path at the airport. We met Jeff for lunch on Tuesday and had a great time watching the planes land.

The planes were distracting, so Josh didn't eat much!

Another beautiful day!

Another gorgous day and we had to take advantage of it! We went to Chapel Nursery with Molly, Ellie and Bethany Frey and had fun playing on the playgroup equipment and seeing the animals. Elmo talked about horses today on Sesame Street, so we had to take the kids somewhere with horses, right?! Katelyn loved the clydesdales and we laughed everytime one exhaled onto her hand! She is fearless when it comes to animals! Josh had fun climbing and playing on the equipment. There were tears when it was time to go home!

Future job?

They are both so strong!

When Josh and Katelyn stand next to each other, I wonder if he'll always be a foot taller!
