Hamlin, WV

We were in Nana's hometown of Hamlin, WV on Wednesday.

Cousin Charles shared a lot of stories with Chris

Picnic, Carousel and Trains

Here are a few more photos from the Maryland Science Center trip from yesterday. We packed a lunch and had a picnic in the harbor while watching the boats. Then Grant, Josh and Betsy went on the world's longest carousel ride. Seriously, we were on for at least ten minutes! The girl who ran the ride was on her cell phone and didn't seem to keep track of us. The kids thought it was great, but the adult standing on the ride holding Josh was getting dizzy! Grant declared it his favorite part of the day at the time. Today, we rode the light rail to nowhere and Grant and Josh really liked it. Josh went to bed talking about it - the choo-choo, tracks, the bridge over the water, everything!

Grant and Jackson are here!

Grant and Jackson (and Kevin, Cassi and Chris too!) are here to visit. The kids are having a lot of fun playing together - it is very loud here! Here are some highlights so far!

Josh found Grant's shoes and decided to try them on for size
Jackson and Katelyn got themselves into this position
(Really...we didn't pose them!)

Today we went to the Maryland Science Center.
Grant and Josh looked for fossils.

Josh and Grant enjoyed seeing how a tornado works and destroying it

Josh's favorite part of the Kid's Room at the Maryland Science Center is the waterplay table.
We spend the majority of our time here!

There's a mouse in the house...

We went to Deep Creek with the Lightners last weekend. Bailey and Katelyn shared/stole each others toys in the car and Betty entertained them. Josh and I sat in the third row - apparently I am so much fun, Josh didn't want to nap at all! When we got there Friday night, we found another visitor in house. It was quite an adventure with lots of laughs catching the mouse, but we got him!

Fun-filled Day

On Tuesday, we went to the Brintnalls to swim. I didn't take many pictures, but did manage to snap a few. Katelyn spent some time in the kiddie pool with Bailey. Nan swam with Josh in the pool and they practiced blowing bubbles! Later that night, Josh and Katelyn went on a double date with Macy and Parker!

Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay...

We went with our friends, Kate and Jed, to the beach this weekend. The house was actually on the bay and it was the perfect setting! We walked to the beach and to the pool and had a really relaxing time. There were no crowds, no traveling in the car, no agenda - and did I mention the weather was really mild too?!

4th of July

We had a really enjoyable weekend at Deep Creek and celebrated the Fourth with Grandad and Grandma. Josh got to ride on the mower and forklift and even steered! We had a great dinner and sang Happy Birthday to Grandad. Around dusk, we watched fireworks - Grandad's backyard display and the fireworks from various towns over the tree line. Grandad's Show was really awesome and even though Josh was nervous during, he asked, "Please" when it was over hoping for more! Thank you for the great celebration!

Yesterday Josh said that the forklift was his favorite, but today he said the mow-mow...it's too hard to decide!

Josh helped Grandad blow out the candle

The temperature was in the 60's - can you believe we had to wear fleeces in July?!

The rockets red glare...
