Rainy Day Silly

There has been some amazing rain today and we are certainly trapped inside!
Here are some pictures of our fun.

Josh has been playing with the bristle blocks that Grandma and Granddad got him for Christmas everyday for the past few weeks. Everything he makes - car, boat, plane, helicopter, truck, etc. - has a propeller.
All vehicles should be able to fly, you know!
Katelyn wore these glasses all morning long.

Even while she was going down the steps - not sure how she did it!

We decided to try out a new hairstyle - the ponytail!

Maybe I should pull out the nail polish - that seems like a good rainy day activity.
How much do you want to bet that Josh will want his nails painted too?! Not sure how to handle that one!

Zoo Day

Josh has been asking to go to the zoo for weeks, but he wanted to only go if Daddy was going too. We spent the morning wandering through the zoo.

Before we even started, Josh talked about the zebras.

Lions! They were finally out and we saw them both!

Daddy and Katelyn watching the penquins eat lunch.

Josh and Katelyn check out the giraffes.

We went on the new choo-choo through the zoo!

Bright, Sunshiny Day

Some friends told me about the sunflower fields only a few miles from our house. I'm apparently a week or so late as the sunflowers are dying, but...

...there were still a few flowers holding on and smiling towards the sun.

There are about four or five fields like this - just tons of sunflowers.
It was still an amazing sight - we'll just try to visit earlier next year!

As we pulled up, Josh said, "Do you know who made the sunflowers? God made the sunflowers." It's in those moments that I'm encouraged and relieved to know that we've at least instilled a few nuggets of truth in our children! I teared up when he stated that - he's listening! :)

It did! Thank you!

(For those of you in the Baltimore area - go north on Jacksonville Pike and it is at the intersection with Hess Road - near the Royal Farms.)

Come on Vikings...you can do it!

We figured they could use some encouragement!

Weekend Fun on the Farm

We had fun celebrating our friend's birthday this weekend at Clark's Elioak Farm.

Josh and Katelyn both enjoyed the hay ride. Josh was especially excited that the tractor was pulling us!

We fed the goats and sheep.

No fingers were lost (thankfully!) here. The kids decided it was a good idea to feed the turkey grass. Another mom and I didn't think the turkey would be interested. To our surprise, it actually got up from it's spot, walked over to the kids, and would eat the sprigs of grass they put through the mesh. It was a miracle no one got bitten - we quickly transitioned to another activity!

What did Josh want to do the entire time? Sit on the tractor of course! He thought it was very cool that this was an "early tractor" from his tractor book.

On the Cow Train! The biggest fit was thrown leaving this ride. :)
It was just too much fun!
We're excited to visit Rich's Farm next month!!

Katelyn goes to gymnastics

Today Katelyn had her time in gymnastics with Macy. She loved the balance beam and liked climbing through the obstacle courses that her teacher, Mr. Joe, set up for the kiddies. But her favorite part was the stamps she got on her hands and feet at the end, I think!

Hershey Park Happy!

We've had tickets for Hershey Park all summer and managed to go on the only rainy day in a month! We started out at Chocolate World and Josh was SO excited to get chocolate at the end!

Katelyn and Josh were not interested in getting close to the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, but they did think it was funny!

Katelyn is a Miniature and Josh is a Kiss!

The first stop was the carousel

Another favorite ride was the little choo-choo.
Josh got to ring the bell during the ride!

But Josh's favorite ride of all was the Pirate Ship. He went on this twice by himself and was grinning ear to ear the entire time.

We all went on the train around the park. Josh was so excited to ride through the zoo!

He sat in the front seat by himself :)

Check out that shiner!

No one rode in the stroller today - Katelyn walked the entire time. Slowly...the entire time!

Last stop was the carousel again - ask you can see, everyone was getting tired!

Thank you Grandma and Pop-Pop for taking us to Hershey Park. It really was a great day!

(P.S. Dad is doing well since his first knee surgery!)

Visit with Miles!

We got to spend the day with Miles while his Mommy and Daddy were at a wedding. We had a great time and loved his smiles and cuddles! As you can see, Josh and Katelyn were excited too - sometimes they would get a little too close and other times they were really sweet with him. The pictures tell the story!

I would catch Katelyn walking around and then stopping near Miles, squatting down and patting him on the back saying, "Hi Miles." It was really sweet!
What happened to Katelyn's eye you ask? Katelyn verses the bottom deck step. We're teaching her to say, "You should see the other kid!" It really looks like she was in a fight!

Josh and Parker go to gymnastics

Josh and Parker went to Rebounders on Wednesday night. They had a fun time!

Josh's favorite part was jumping. And the stamps they got on their hands at the end. :)

Josh's First Day of School

Josh's Cubby Conference was on Wednesday. He got to meet his new teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Dunn. He loved the classroom and made his way around to all the toys and puzzles. And Katelyn loved it too. We were there about a half hour and both children had to be carried out crying because they didn't want to leave!

Josh, Katelyn and Mr. Dunn coloring leaves for the tree.

Mr. Dunn helped Katelyn hang her leaf up too!

Friday was Josh's first day of school with his class. This was the best photo I could get. :) As you can see, Katelyn was ready to go too. She cried when we dropped Josh off and wanted to go with him!

Mickey's Road Rally

We headed over to Bailey's for a Mickey's Road Rally party. It was complete with Pizza and Popcorn! A full hour of Mickey? A dream come true for Josh, Katelyn and Bailey!
