Deep Creek Hike

We spent the weekend at Deep Creek. On Saturday morning, we took a hike at Swallow Falls. We hiked on the opposite side of the falls and river than normal. It was fun to explore a new location and see the falls from a different view. There were lots of hills to climb up and slide down - we won't be getting the stains out of these clothes!

Katelyn joined the boys in the climb.
She got a little help from her brother and Grant!

Muddy Creek Falls - what a view!

A sweet moment with Aunt Cassi

There were LOTS of rocks thrown into the river!

Williamsburg Week

YiaYia & Pop-Pop were in Williamsburg for the week, so Mommy, Josh and Katelyn decided to join them. Daddy had to stay home to work. :(

We spent a lot of time in the pool everyday!
Pop-Pop, Josh and Katelyn swam around the perimeter of
the big pool each day - they are so strong!

We took the ferry from Jamestown across the river.

Happy Birthday, Pop-Pop!

And Josh talked Pop-Pop into playing miniature golf.
He didn't want to play on the playground - just golf!

Thank you for such a fun week YiaYia and Pop-Pop!

Animal Rescue Day with Dora & Diego!

We've driven by Adventure Park USA in the Frederick area for over 8 years now. We don't know anyone who has actually been there, but thought we'd give it a try. We had breakfast with Dora and Diego. We are pretty certain these aren't official costumes, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Josh was happy to see Dora and Diego...Katelyn, not so much. :) She'd rather see them on TV.

The tea cups were Josh and Katelyn's favorite ride!

There were dogs,  horses, reptiles and birds that had all been rescued in the area.
Katelyn LOVED this part of the day!

Josh and Katelyn LOVED playing miniature golf - this may be our 2012 summer activity!

We had a really fun morning. It is a small park, but just right for a few hours. There are outdoor rides and  activities for the kids and an arcade inside to beat the heat.

Happy 85th Birthday, Gigi Gallo!

We headed to Jersey to celebrate Gigi Gallo's 85th Birthday. We had a fun time with Cousins Josie, Jack & Danny too. Happy Birthday, Gigi!

Josie had to get her hat before we headed to dinner!

Happy Birthday to you, Gigi!

Farewell Sailabration!

We said farewell to the ships by spending the morning at Fort McHenry. We caught the tail end of the Navy ships departing. Then we saw all of the Tall Ships leave. When we asked Josh which was his favorite, he declared the Urban Pirates ship that happened to sail by at the end. It's a cute ship, but maybe you'll choose a different one...

Do you see the sailors on the mast arms?
This is how interested Katelyn was. :)

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day, Daddy asked to see the Blue Angels who were putting on a two-day air show for Sailabration. We packed a picnic and spent the afternoon keeping an eye out for the jets. They were really amazing - there were lots of rolls and flying upside-down. It was a great way to spend the afternoon and celebrate Daddy!

Lots of Jets!

After the picnic on Saturday, we headed over to Martin State Airport to check out all of the jets, helicopters and planes on display for Sailabration. There were Navy pilots there too that we could talk to. Josh and Katelyn were able to climb into a rescue helicopter which was pretty cool.

The Blue Angels landed just before we got there.
It was a fun preview for what were going to see
the next day at the air show.

These Cessnas are so small -
pretty sure we'll never get in one of these for a flight!
