Happy Birthdays

Katelyn turned 7 months old today and Joshua turned 21 months old. This is what our photoshoots look like now!

*Disclaimer: No children were harmed or bitten during the making of these photos*

Giddy up Motorcycle and a lollipop too!

Josh saw the lollipops out on the counter today and begged for one. So, after lunch he devoured it. I think he would have eaten the stick too if I hadn't stopped him! He was a sticky, but happy boy!

Later, he invented a new game. He rides the dry mop like a horse, but makes a motorcycle sound. He just did laps like this and giggled and thought it was really funny. We thought it was really funny too!

Josh and Katelyn

Josh loves to push around his new shopping cart. The basket comes off of the cart and Josh likes to pretend the base is either a lawn mower (in addition to his new lawn mower he pushes on the deck - great yard sale find!) or in this case, a chariot! He holds onto the handle and stands while making noises like a car. He has a good imagination already!

It's hard to convince Josh that pulling on Katelyn's legs is dangerous and hurts her when she is smiling and laughing at him! For a while, Katelyn would cry whenever Josh approached her in anticipation of the worse. Now she's smiling at him about half the time! She thinks he's funny and he is eating this attention from her up!

Welcome Home, Uncie!

Katelyn joined Jeff and Betsy at Deep Creek this weekend. We were thankful to be able to see Chris and welcome him home after his trip abroad for 2 1/2 weeks!

Another month is passing by

Joshua and Katelyn will be 21 months and 7 months old in exactly one week! This time with them is flying by!

Trip to the Zoo

It was a beautiful day to be outside and we spent the morning at the zoo with the Snider gals.
This sums up the visit. Madison and Josh were super excited to see the animals and there was a lot of squealing and pointing with excitement!

Hey - at least she's keeping her hat on!

Mommy and her babies!

Yes...you are seeing what you think you're seeing.
I'm glad our children are too young to ask! It was a true wildlife educational experience!

WARNING: Do not let your toddlers see these photos!

Josh gave Betsy a surprise yesterday during his nap. Josh was not eager to nap and fussing quite a bit. She heard him throw his toys out of the crib (typical) and hear another thump a few minutes later, but assumed it was another toy. She then hear the pitter-patter of little feet in the front hallway and soon Josh appeared in the kitchen with a big grin on his face! She promptly took him back up to see how he climbed out. Here he is demonstrating!

Josh practicing getting out of his toddler bed

Bedtime for Josh! We spent all evening in search of a bed rail for a toddler bed - we'll have to search online. In the meantime, pillows on the floor will have to do!

He likes it!

Good morning Josh! He slept all night in his bed without a problem, only peaking out of the door once when he first went down. Right now he's taking his nap and still staying in his bed.
We're hoping he continues this easy transition. Especially since our plan was for him to stay in his crib until he was 3! We're quickly learning that our plans are not always his plans!

Getting so big!

Katelyn had her 6 month check-up last week. She's 14 pounds 6 ounces and 25 1/2 inches long. Katelyn is rolling over now and wiggling around - it's fun to see where she is in the crib when she wakes up. She loves to grab her feet and reaches for her toys while she's sitting up. It is amazing to see what she is learning each week!

Weekend in State College

We spent the weekend in State College, PA for Betsy's childhood friend, Maggie's, wedding. We had a great time visiting with friends! We spent some time walking around downtown too - it was a beautiful day!

Most people get their photo taken with the Nittany Lion...we found the statue of the pigs!

Josh liked taking his Nittany Lion for a walk
(Thank you Maggie!)

Josh's favorite part of the reception - the drums!

Daddy with his cuties!

Josh dances with Grandma and Grandpa

We met 25 years ago when Maggie's moved in across the street from the Crossman's.
Congratulations Maggie and Jim!

Another Rainy Day

Another rainy day and it looks like there are four more to go. So far this morning we've played with playdoh (Josh was entertained for a good 45 minutes!) and run numerous laps around the house! Add in some time with trains, puzzles, books, tools and pots and pans and well...I can't believe it's only the morning! I'm tired just thinking about this afternoon after naptime...ugh! I'm trying to figure out if staying dry and in my pajamas outweighs packing up the kids and running through the rain through a parking lot to a store! Oh, decisions of a stay-at-home mom! :) Don't worry, we have plans everyday for the rest of the week, so I won't keep us locked inside all week!

I'm a bad mom...

Josh fell in, he cried for help, I grabbed the camera...enough said.

Bubbles!!!!

Josh's favorite place to be is outside and his favorite pastime is...BUBBLES!
This was his reward for making it through the rain and doing so well with his nebulizer tonight. Yes, sadly we had to start that up again last night. We tried to stop in April and again in May. Poor Josh can't seem to shake a cold without it and ended up with double ear infections today taking us to the doctors early Sunday morning.
Please pray he'll be able to stop the nebulizer at some point this summer...he really doesn't like it!

Daddy's Little Girl

Katelyn hasn't been too excited about eating rice cereal this week and today just downright wasn't happy! So, we added some baby prunes to the cereal today and that was the answer! She ate it all up! Daddy knew the trick!
