Cousin Time!

We headed to Aunt Jodi and Uncle Dave's house after Easter. The kids almost knocked over Gigi Gallo running to give her a hug - we were happy they were so excited to see her, but it was dangerous! Dana is home and we were thrilled to spend the day with her too! Josh, Katelyn, Josie, Jack, and Danny are blessed to be cousins. We had a great time!

Dana started tracing Josh and Katelyn...
...so they wanted to trace Dana!
And some hopscotch too!

So happy to have cuddle time with Josie!

Josie asked Josh to hold his hand. Josh explained that he is a knight and knights are always kind, so of course he would hold her hand. It was pretty sweet!

Josh and Jack playing with the ball. I somehow did not get any pictures of Danny - I'll have to make it up next time!

Josh and Josie worked really well together building towers.

Happy Birthday Aunt Jodi!!!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

This is a great dress for twirling!Josh and Katelyn found their Easter Baskets and were very happy!

After lunch, we baked Resurrection Rolls. A friend told us about this activity and we were excited to try it. Daddy explained all the steps and what everything represents. We had moderate success - we highly recommend using fresh marshmellows if you want them to disappear!

Ready to put the tombs in the oven

This is Josh's surprised look!

Where did Jesus go?!

An Afternoon at the Theatre

On Saturday, we went to the Lyric Opera House for Treasured Stories by Eric Carle. It was a neat puppet production of three stories well-known to Katelyn and Josh and a fun, family activity. We dressed up in our Easter clothes, so were looking sharp!

The kids were really interested in the stories the entire time. It was a shush-free production, so they were free to speak along to the stories or point out things they noticed. The puppets were pretty cool and there were cool special effects. There was a question/answer time at the end of the production and Josh even raised his hand to ask how the red bird flew. He was disappointed that they didn't have a chance to hear his question, but we were proud of him for coming up with one on his own.

Easter Egg Hunt

We made it to our first neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. There were a lot of activities for the kids and lots of eggs!

And this is where it all went wrong. As you can see, Katelyn is pointing the ball gun towards Josh's face. Her aim was good (though not intended) and it hurt for sure. And see how Josh is holding those hulahoops? Well, when you're hurt and mad, it seems like those make a good weapon. We left about thirty seconds after this picture was taking...both kids in tears...parents trying to smile as we wisked the kids to the car.

Happy Easter!
