You know you're a redneck...

...If the last two posts you have show you in cowboy boots and fishing. :) And especially if you are fishing while wearing cowboy boots...which I wasn't!
Jeff, Betsy and Chris went to a David Nail and Jason Aldean concert tonight at Merriweather Post Pavilion. It was a great concert with most excellent people watching. Chris got made fun of by tailgaters as we drove in his Kia Soul. He wanted to roll down the window to tell them it was a rental, but refrained from doing so. Lots of flannel, daisy dukes, cowboy hats and cowboy boots. Betsy fit in perfectly. :)

"She's Country"

Jeff's first concert!

Thanks for inviting us along Chris!

(Hey Dana - Have you noticed yet that I borrowed a few things from your closet while you're gone? Keep watching the posts! :) )

Fish Stories

Dad and I spent yesterday fishing in the bay for the East Baltimore Young Life Fishing Tournament. We had a great day fishing. Our boat (of 6) caught our limit of Rockfish, caught a few Bluefish and ended up having to just catch and release for the last 45 minutes hoping we'd catch the winning fish! The largest on our boat was 23 inches and the tournament winner caught a 31 inch fish. We were just happy to go home with a bunch of filets!

Betsy realed in the first fish of the day - 22 inch striped bass

Dad caught the next one - 22 1/2 inches!

Josh enjoyed yummy fish for dinner

And Katelyn even wanted seconds!

We had dinner last night in the family room while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We're not ready to be finished with vacation yet! (We'll work on posting our vacation pictures soon!)

Shrewsbury Carnival

We went to the Shrewsbury Lion's Club Carnival with Grandma and Pop-Pop. Josh and Katelyn were so excited to be there - they might as well have been at Disney World!

Josh leads Katelyn through to the rides

Josh and Katelyn enjoyed every ride - Katelyn's face didn't always show it, but after every ride, when we asked her if she had fun, she said, "Yeah!" with a smile!

Katelyn was very excited about the swings!

Josh, Daddy, and Katelyn took a ride on the ferris wheel. Katelyn kept trying to peak over the edge.

Bumpy trucks!
We can't wait to find our next fair - yes, we are becoming Carnies! :)

Eggs and Popcorn

To keep with the movie theme, we had popcorn with our eggs this morning instead of toast. Josh asked and I couldn't think of a good reason to say no! It was a fun incentive to eat all their breakfast.

Saying no would have kept us from seeing this joyful face. Who would want to do that?! :)

To Infinity and Beyond

Tonight Josh and Katelyn went to their first theater movie. We count it as a success - we made it through the entire film! As predicted, Katelyn was even more excited than Josh, but at the end of the movie, Josh said, "I want to watch it again!"

Mommy, Josh, Katelyn, and Daddy getting ready to see Toy Story 3!
Note Josh and Katelyn sporting their Toy Story t-shirts :)
Kate, Stacey and Jed joined us for the movie. (More people eventually entered the theater too!)
The kids stayed in their seats almost half of the movie and then switched between Mommy and Daddy the rest of the time. Both Josh and Katelyn enjoyed the popcorn - but of course Katelyn kept asking for more! :)

Sprinkler Fun

We battled the heat with the sprinkler today at Grandma and Pop-Pop's house.

Josh and Katelyn thought it was really fun to drink the sprinkler water!

Mmmm...refreshing!

It was a fun day!

4th of July Weekend

We traveled to Deep Creek for the weekend. On the way up on Saturday, we stopped at Sideling Hill to climb the hill and see the view. We've driven by it tons of times and never stopped. We can now officially check it off the list of things to do - and never have to go again. It was pretty anti-climatic! :)

The festivities officially started on Saturday evening at Granddad and Grandma's house for dinner and fireworks. Here are Grant, Jackson, Katelyn and Josh with Granddad and Grandma.

Our best family photo - seriously!

Happy Birthday Granddad!

Our Week

We had a relaxing week at home and with friends...

Katelyn is ready for work!

We had a great time at the pool with Betty and Bailey on Monday

Pop-Pop Kitty came to visit us on Wednesday. He met us on the front porch in the morning - followed us on our walk - watched us in the basement through the back door - and then visited us on the deck in the evening! Josh and Katelyn thought he was so much fun! Katelyn did eventually drive him away though with her incredibly loud talking!

Bailey spent the day with us on Wednesday and we spent a lot of time outside.
This contributed to it taking us about an hour to walk to the end of our block and back...

...and so did this. There was nothing quick about this outing!

Josh kept asking Bailey to go for a drive

Bailey gave Katelyn a ride down the hill...it's not a trip that will be repeated for a few months!

On Thursday, Josh and Katelyn played at Camp Sniders!
They had their first experience with water balloons - so much fun!

You can see the joy on their faces!

Josh and Katelyn were so excited to see Miles tonight.
As usual, Katelyn smothered Miles with kisses, but he didn't mind too much!
