Happy Easter!

During Bible time at school last week, the kids were listening to the story of Jesus' resurrection. A friend who was in Josh's class told us that Josh was listening intently and when Mr. Dunn read the part where the tomb was empty, Josh stated in astonishment, "Awesome." He was truly amazed - we worship a living God who defeated death. Awesome.

We celebrated Easter with Grandma, Pop-Pop, Gigi, and Aunt Jodi last weekend. We had a fun day dying eggs, hunting for Easter eggs, and playing together.

Nature Center

We went to Oregon Ridge's Nature Center for the afternoon today. It was a beautiful day and fun to be outside. After we had our picnic and Josh pee'd in the woods, we headed to the pond. There were some older kids there catching tadpoles, so Josh and Katelyn took their turns doing that too. One of the kids found a baby turtle and let Josh and Katelyn have a turn holding it too. We played there for a long time - as we moved to a spot, frogs would hop and splash - it was a lot of fun! After we spent time outdoors, we headed inside the Nature Center. Josh liked the woodpecker sounds display best (lots of buttons to push) and Katelyn liked the turtles. Those pictures make me laugh. :)

Lady Gaga's House of Beauty

After school today we went to Parker and Macy's Gaga's house for lunch. After lunch, Macy asked Gaga to paint her nails and all the girls got manicures. First they soaked their nails to clean them and then Lady Gaga painted them. The color of choice was bright pink. :) This was only Katelyn's second time to get her fingernails painted (Saturday was actually her first!) and she's very eager to show EVERYONE her nails!

Meeting Jack and Danny

We got to meet our new baby cousins Jack and Danny! They are 5 weeks old now and are super sweet boys. Josh was particularly fond of Jack (I think since both of their names start with J) and Katelyn stuck close to Danny. Even though Jack and Danny certainly are the babies of the family now, they still haven't stopped calling Josie, "Baby Josie!"

An Eventful Friday

We had a fieldtrip for school today to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Josh recognized some music from Little Einsteins and especially liked the violins.

Then later in the evening, we went to the Circus! Katelyn liked just being at the circus. Josh declared his favorites parts to be, "The motorcycles, the man walking on the fire, and the elephants."

Molly and Ellie were there too and we got together at intermission!

Josh's First Trip to the Dentist

Today was Josh's first trip to the dentist. HE WAS A ROCK STAR!!! We are so proud of him. He sat in the chair by himself, asked questions about the tools and followed directions so well. Miriam, the dental hygienist, was so great explaining everything to Josh - she is soft spoken and was a perfect match for him. We weren't sure how this visit would be and Josh did a really great job.

Josh's favorite part was suctioning the water out of his mouth.

He decided to sit up while his teeth were cleaned.

Josh was excited to pick out a toothbrush, egg timer and floss out...

then got to pick out a prize from a treasure chest. He picked out a little race car.

The Dentist's Office is a pretty cool place!

End of Winter? Not at Deep Creek!

We spent the weekend at Deep Creek. It snowed the entire time we were there! As anxious as we are for the warm weather, it was fun to play - hopefully this is the last time until next winter!
